The summer whipped by so amazingly fast! We had one of the best and busiest fishing seasons ever. The walleye, northern pike and small mouth bass bit well and we have some great pictures to share of dandy fish. It will most likely be a wintertime project to get them up for you to view as we are now busy getting camp in order for our bow hunts. Guides Brian Albrecht and Vern Gagnon served our Salmon and lake trout fishermen at the dam in August. They caught some very good fish but the bite didn’t last as long as we expected it to. Brian took his daughter Oli and her friend Liv out salmon fishing August 13-14 and did very well, 13 salmon in two days, the largest 24.2#! The girls boated all of the fish and did a fantastic job. The following weekend, August 19, 20, 21 the salmon were up much shallower, dark and the fight just wasn’t as good as earlier so we closed the chapter on the 2016 salmon fishing. Vern’s guests on August 20 kept their limit of lake trout with the largest at 18#.
We are moving on to 2017 and the calendar, especially for late May and June is getting pretty full already. If you want to fish with us next summer, you need to reserve your dates soon.
The 2016 archery season for elk looks good. At this time 5 hunters are scheduled in to pursue bull elk. If you are interested in an hunt, and hold a permit for areas 798-20; 798-21; 798-01; 700-00 or 007-00, we have openings available. The archery only antelope permit for 900-20, or rifle or archery permits 700-20 will allow you to hunt antelope with us. You can expect a higher rate of success hunting private land where we limit the numbers of hunters, with our guides who know the property well.
