We got our season started off in fine fashion! May 4th Myron & I went out to check out the fishing and make sure all was in order on his boat. It took a bit to figure out what the fish wanted, but the end results was a 10# 1 oz. male walleye, a couple of smaller ones and a northern.

On Friday Jim and Myron went looking for northern pike for Jim’s group in quest of northerns on a fly rod. They ended up catching northern and found 8 walleye between 2 – 4 1/2#.

Our guests on Saturday, May 7th & 8th did very well catching 7 big small mouth bass, the largest a shade under 5# as well as 8 northern pike. Jim Harris did very well on his two day fly fishing trip, catching a 40″ & 41″ northern, several small mouth bass and a walleye. While he was fly fishing, his son-in-law Dane, caught walleye jigging.

The wind and rain came in on Monday so we rescheduled our groups planned for early this week. It was a good call as we had 30 mph steady winds and gusts to 42, along with 3.32″ of rain. We look forward to the fishing picking up as this front passes and we get on toward the weekend.

We do have a few openings left to book in July, so if you would like to fish with us this summer we need to get your dates reserved. Call us at 406-557-2503 or email us at Kibler@midrivers.com. Fish on!
